What the developer confirmed
In its October 21 announcement, Gloomsoft listed Steam Deck verification alongside changes to the demo: control rebinding, localizations, a scan logbook and progress that carries over to the full game.
The full game launched on October 22, 2026. The Steam store still lists a demo download at the time of this check. Use the official store’s download control rather than an unofficial executable or an old mirror.
Does the demo save transfer?
Yes, according to Gloomsoft. This makes the demo useful if you want to try the game’s movement and exploration before deciding whether to continue.
Keep your existing demo save until you have opened the full game and confirmed that your progress is present. Do not delete local files as a first troubleshooting step. If you use more than one PC, make sure you are checking the machine and account where you actually played.
The developer also explains that demo achievements are stored locally. They unlock on your Steam account after the full game is purchased and launched. An achievement not appearing on your Steam profile during the demo is therefore not, by itself, evidence that you missed it.
Playing on Steam Deck
Use the demo to answer the questions specific to your own setup: can you comfortably read the interface, do the controls feel right, and does the game run acceptably with the settings you prefer? Re-check the store’s current compatibility panel before buying for a handheld.
A useful first-session checklist
- Open the controls menu and check the bindings before exploring.
- Try the movement tools in a safe area so that traversal does not depend on remembering an unfamiliar button.
- Use the scanner when a route is unclear. The official description identifies it as a way to examine the environment and uncover hidden paths.
- Keep the scan logbook available as a reference rather than relying only on memory.
