Palworld PS5 dedicated servers: crossplay and community setup

PS5 can join Palworld dedicated servers under the current rules. Understand community listing and platform settings before hosting.

Coverage: Server documentation 1.0.4

The quick answer

PS5 is supported by the current dedicated-server documentation. Xbox and PS5 players need a community server: a dedicated server advertised in the in-game community list.

Choose the correct server type

A dedicated server runs independently of a player’s game client. A community server is that same hosting model with an in-game listing. These are not competing kinds of world persistence.

For a mixed PC/PS5 group, choose the community listing route. Pocketpair’s current documentation includes Steam, Xbox/Microsoft Store, Mac and PS5 crossplay. Older documentation for previous versions can give a different answer.

Host-side checklist

  1. Use a current dedicated-server build and the documentation for that build.
  2. Start it in community mode. The documented command-line flag is -publiclobby; the Steam tool also offers a community-server launch option.
  3. Check CrossplayPlatforms. The documented default is (Steam,Xbox,PS5,Mac).
  4. Confirm the server appears in the community list before asking console players to join.

If the host cannot join their own listing

The community-server guide flags a router limitation called hairpin NAT: a machine on the same local network may fail to reach the server through its public address. That alone does not establish that an outside friend will fail too. Compare the two situations before replacing the world or blaming crossplay support.

Keep the test focused: a missing listing, a disallowed platform and a failed network connection are different problems. For settings that appear to be ignored, see the active configuration-file guide.
