No Man’s Sky 7.13: returning from an expired expedition

Forsaken 7.13 changes Return to Primary Save for expired expeditions. Check whether the fix applies to your save before troubleshooting.

Coverage: Forsaken 7.13, November 2026

The quick answer

For an expedition begun from a primary save, 7.13 makes Return to Primary Save finalize the expedition when its season has expired.

Which saves the change covers

Hello Games specifies community expeditions started from a primary save. When that season is over, the pause-menu Return to Primary Save action now finalizes the expedition.

The distinction matters if you are reading a troubleshooting thread written for a separate expedition save. Check how you began the expedition before applying instructions intended for a different workflow.

Check before trying a workaround

Confirm that your installed build includes 7.13 or a later patch carrying the fix. Then check whether the season is actually expired and whether the expedition began from your primary save.

Our recommendation is to verify those three facts before editing files, deleting a save or repeating an old workaround. The patch describes a change to the normal return action; it does not require creating a replacement journey.

Other changes in the same patch

The notes also address entry into freighters after battles and several Corvette-building issues. Those fixes are separate from expedition completion and do not establish that a missing expedition reward has been restored.

For the full start/pause/return workflow, read expeditions from an existing save.
